DIY Ceilidh started in October 2022 as a group of folk dance and music lovers gathered to create an inclusive ceilidh night of social-dancing and merriment.

 

Gathered behind an ethos of co-creation and community, the DIY Ceilidh has grown to be much bigger than any of us expected. Now regularly selling out our monthly nights at the Lubber Fiend, we've become a firm fixture of Newcastle’s alternative night-life scene. The DIY Ceilidh is sustained by an amazing community of volunteers coming to play, call, work the door and help us run this magnificent night! 

 

Growing from the DIY Ceilidh Community, ‘The DIY Ceilidh Band’ have since been invited to play at festivals across the country and are regularly booked to play at weddings and private events. If you’re interested in booking us for an event or festival please get in touch!
